The town of Tossa de Mar, with just under 6,000 inhabitants, is a town with medieval charm, one of the jewels of the Costa Brava. In the “vila vella” (old town) of Tossa de Mar you have many surprises to discover, especially its iconic castle, and also its cultural and natural environment, its gastronomy, or the atmosphere of the bars at sunset.
Tossa de Mar has three beaches, making it an ideal place both for a beach holiday and relaxing, as well as for visiting other hidden corners of the Costa Brava, such as coves, medieval towns, or the culture and history of cities like Girona and Barcelona.
All of the beaches in Tossa de Mar have a Blue Flag, and are ideal for family holidays on the Costa Brava.
The hotel has direct access to the Mar Menuda beach. The beach, which is 180 metres long, is smaller than the Playa Grande and is therefore more exclusive. This beach is adapted for disabled access and is equipped with all necessary facilities. The Mar Menuda beach is also suitable for snorkelling or for beginners in diving.
The Platja Gran is about 200 metres from Gran Hotel Reymar. It is the main beach in Tossa de Mar and is located in the heart of the town. It is the busiest of the 3 beaches, from where boats leave for the surrounding coves, caves and coastal towns. Platja Gran in Tossa de Mar is 380 metres long.
El Codolar is the smallest of the three beaches (about 30 metres long). It is located behind the walls of the Tossa de Mar castle, south of the city. This cove was formerly used as a port for small fishing boats from Tossa de Mar.
